The donation of germ cells (sperm, oocytes and embryos) involves the voluntary disclosure of donors of their germ cells or embryos to other persons for use in the treatment of infertility. Donor identity information is a medical secret.
Indications for artificial insemination using donor oocytes are:
- premature ovarian syndrome
- condition after ovarioectomy, radio or chemotherapy
- genital anomalies
- risk of transmission of hereditary diseases
- absence of oocytes due to natural menopause
- numerous unsuccessful attempts at artificial fertilization programs with reduced ovarian response to induction of superovulation, continuous production of low quality embryos
Oocyte donors may be non-anonymous relatives or familiar patients and anonymous voluntary donors.
Requirements for oocyte donors:
- age from 20 to 32 years
- having a healthy baby born
- satisfactory somatic health
- absence of hereditary diseases
- absence of negative phenotypic manifestations
- no bad habits
Sperm donors can be men between the ages of 20 and 40, provided a healthy baby was born. Prerequisites are the absence of negative phenotypic manifestations, somatic and hereditary diseases, bad habits.
